NXP Partners with Ford to Enable Next-Generation Connected Car Experience and Unlock Service Potential

NXP Semiconductors N.V. (NASDAQ: NXPI) has announced a partnership with Ford Motor Company to enhance the driving experience, convenience and service for Ford's global fleet, including the 2021 F-150 pickup, Mustang Mach-E and Bronco crossover. Ford's new fully connected vehicle architecture works with NXP's in-car network processors and i.MX 8 Series processors to upgrade vehicles and help enhance customer lives and optimize the owner experience.

NXP's in-vehicle network processor provides a secure in-vehicle network that supports gateways to rapidly deploy over-the-air (OTA) software updates and new services, while processing and sending in-depth vehicle data to the cloud to drive continuous product upgrades. The processor also supports data-oriented services such as vehicle health management.

NXP i.MX 8 Series processors power Ford SYNC®4, bringing customers an advanced multimedia experience with vivid imagery that enables in-vehicle productivity support tools, cloud services, enhanced voice recognition and location applications.

NXP helps Ford continue to improve the quality of its vehicles by providing an enjoyable in-car user experience and wireless updates that continue to improve after the vehicle leaves the factory," said Kurt Sievers, chief executive officer of NXP Semiconductors. Our S32G2 and i.MX 8 series processors make possible the expanded services, new user experiences and convenience that customers have come to expect."
